Dobbie - Trial Day 3

So Dobbie didn't have a good night last night after taking an hour to settle down to sleep. I tried a few different approaches but he was determined to sleep as near as possible to me (tucking himself into the top step of my stairs repeatedly). Eventually he settled on the sofa which is not cool - tonight its lock-down in the cage and ear-plugs-in after speaking to a Dog Behaviouralist.

I spent a good hour and a half coming in and out of the house this lunch trying him to "get-it" that he's not gonna be left on his own forever more. I was beginning to loose the will to live with his persistent whining and yapping but he was apparently quiet when Mum picked him up after being on his own for 45 minutes - so maybe it will be cool.

He has been gifted a Teddy from Dad/George. He loves it (yes - sometimes a bit too much) but also is just sleeping on top of it/next to it so I hope its a small substitute for not having Oscar around.

Am feeling very unsure this is the right thing to do but I keep telling myself its only Day 3 (The Naylor's seem to be convinced if I work at it enough it will all be OK). I have been recruiting Doggy Day Care Support for November onwards in Salisbury - The Dobbie Project continues..........
