I cross trained on Tuesday and then had a really strong feeling it was better not to run on it for a few days. 3 days later I felt better today so decided to get on the treadmill and walked for a km and then ran at a steady pace for 6 more and now it really hurts. Very bad news for me. Sports physio booked up on Friday.
8 weeks tomorrow is My Big Day. I have let my expectations drop with a great deal of sadness. Now the only aim is to get to the starting line. Anything over that is just a small bonus.........I feel very worried and sad :-(
I know that nobody gets away with an injury - they can always have been prevented by something unfathomable that you didn't see coming. Maybe I should have done this, maybe I should have done that but I just think it was bad luck..........I am still going to do everything I can to make it happen.
Cross everything for me (but make sure you stretch properly beforehand)

don't panic dude, 8 weeks is a long time for healing to take place and you have been doing some long runs that will have really helped. rest rest rest till friday, see what they say, and if you can get a couple of weeks training in bofore the big day it will make you feel better, but you now have the fitness to make it round so long as the foot comes good, and it should do with 8 weeks, you might not set a new record, but getting round will be enough, trust me. big hugs dude, baby on the ways by the way, kate at friends, mary having contractions..... will text you if things happen.
love leon
