My Left Foot

so I went off to see the Sorts Physio yesterday. Anthony looks about 12 years old - infact I nearly walked off when I set eyes on him. He is actually 24 (eeeck) BUT he has just been signed up as one of Sheffield Wednesdays physio's which made me feel reassured he must have some skill.

He gave me the quite upsetting news that my left foot is suffering from Plantar Facsiitis and Compression Syndrome. This is due to a number of things that I have been doing wrong (quelle surprise!!!) including running on my midfoot, having my trainers too tight, not stretching enough (zzzzzzzzzz), having no core stability (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz) and I suppose generally just being a lazy useless flabby pointless looser etc etc ete etc.

I was completely appalled when he demonstrated how little movement there is in my left foot compared to my right and whilst massaging my big fat calves it was clear to all involved they are set like concrete. I asked him if it was due to all those years of partying the night away in high heels and he just gave me a withering look.

I am not really supposed to run long distances ha ha ha ha - but I might manage it if I spend every waking moment with my feet in ice buckets and standing on a squash ball. Oh - and he dared to mention the ORTHOTIC issue............

SO...........I have booked an appointment at the local orthopaedic shoe doctor, bought a pack of squash balls, taken the laces out of my trainers and emptied my freezer of all my nice home made soups so I can make room for ice and frozen peas.

Getting fit - who knew it was gonna be so F****** exhausting and inconvenient........................
