Project Avoidance

I have just counted the Projects-in-Progress and I am feeling the need to confront the issue. I am hoping by cataloging them I will gain some order amongst the chaos and focus on one at a time .................................

The Alphabet Quilt (I started this 2 years ago and I can't think of anyone who would appreciate (or know what to do with it) so I can't motivate myself to pick it up again)

My Stripey Bag (all done apart form the lining. This project would be finished with the smallest modicum of effort and it is going to look sooooo cool - I must try harder)

The Noah's Ark Giraffe (he only needs eyes and horns attaching - get on with it Emma!!)

My Sophia Carry-All Bag (I don't like the material choice so my motivation is gone. I just need to come up with some nice cool little embellishments to get me interested again but I just can't get my creative juices flowing on this one)

The Bird tapestry (the oldest of all the ignored-projects. I started this back in the 1970's I think. It is so beautiful - I just hope I find some inspiration to pick it up again at some point but I suspect this won't happen until I am in my 80's)

The Love Embroidery (started off ?2 years ago in the hope of giving it to Linz for her wedding present. It never happened. The main stumbling block is my rubbish embroidery skills but I do have a vague idea that this will be fabulous one day if I actually sit down and put some effort in and person who happens to be in-love will love it)

The Ring Weave (£15 worth of total craft-disaster. I have tried and tried to make this look nice but it is still rubbish. I am planning to take it back to the threshing barn and demand that they show me how to do it properly (ie. its shoved it in a bag in the attic and I will ignore it till I die)

Red Itty-Bitty-Baby-Cardigan (This is sooooo nice. It is definitely going to look good on Gaia. Luckily it is too big for her at the moment so this is on a no-guilt back-burner)

My Noro Jumper (the most amazing beautiful jumper in progress. It cost a fortune to buy the wool and I have loved knitting it and putting it together and best of all it is too hot to consider wearing it at the moment so I am quite happy with it sat in a bag at the bottom of the pile)

My Heart Cardi (lots of holes so need to fully concentrate when knitting this - which I am not very good at so its very slow progress)

The Knitted Picnic (This is soooooooo cute. I am very excited about finishing this off and its a no-guilt, total-pleasure, do-a-bit-whenever-the-mood-takes-me project because I know that whichever little-person it goes to will enjoy it whenever it gets finished)

My Cable Cardi (the source of much doing-and-undoing at the moment. I am not talented enough to Cable-and-watch-tele-or-chat-at-the-same-time so it keeps getting delivered to The Paddocks to be undone. Thank god for my mother otherwise this much wanted cardi would have been chucked in the bin by now)

My Stripey Jumper (I bought this gorgeous baby bamboo yarn and keep struggling to find something to do with it. I started this project and I know it will never get finished. Need to undo and reconsider)

Bala Cross Stitch (I came home from my birthday bash in Wales and immediatley drew the plans for this. I LOVE cross stitch. I find it so ridiculously fascinating and pleasing with all those little personal pictures. I soooooooo want to do a Bala picture for Tiny's family home. Am hoping to get on with this some time this year and produce it for Christmas but for goodness sake - its still just on paper at the moment and as The Sister has reminded me recently - cross stitch is horribly time consuming so I am not holding out much hope. Maybe next year......or the year after......................................

Noahs Ark Monkey (body and arms done, just need to do the legs and ears and tail. Should take me half an hour. Get on with it girl!)

My Millie Cardigan (I had to start a crochet project as I was getting knitting burn-out. I love this cardi - it looks awful at the moment but have high hopes it will turn out nicely with a vintage corsage attached)

The Green Baby Blanket (I started this ?4 years ago. The knitting isn't great quality so it needs partly undoing). Am going to machine patchwork course in August where I will make a back for this to get me inspired)

The Crochet Scarf (I really dont like anything about this but I can't be bothered to undo it and luckily its too hot to care. I will worry about it in January)

The Crocheted Necklace (I started this in November as a Christmas present for mum. It is very fiddly but it is going to look great so I will pick it up again one day)

The Knitted Teddy Bear (I started this last year. Not sure why but I am liking the cute little fairisle jumper so I will keep it to re-visit one day)
