Back to the knitting........I am getting on with the luscious and expensive Noro jumper. I am a bit anxious about the fact that it is clearly
absolutely MASSIVE.

But the yarn is absolutely beautiful and I am confident it will look good on a posh dog walk whilst sporting my skinny jeans and Hunter wellies. I am feeling slightly guilty as I took a trip to Yarn last week and came out clutching this lot

I do feel really really bad about my unnecessary purchase but in my defence I don't go on expensive holidays and I drive a knackered old Peugeot 206 with 3 hubcaps and 1 wing mirror and I don't have any kids and thus and therefore I am allowed to spend ridiculous amounts of money on yarn - YES???

I spent a small (eeek) amount of money this weekend at Hay-on-Wye with bargain books galore (yes - I still managed to spend a small fortune). I had a fab fab fab time in excellent company having lots of good chat with my sis and her friend Leah. We stayed in a fantazi pub with a proper Narnia Wardrobe and lovely food and wine and lots of chat about books and then early to bed. Yet again a great time was had by all - Sarah's recent discovery of Richard Burton's War of the Worlds CD which she played on the way home was a highlight even though I did end up snoozing my way through the second half.

The sunflowers are going strong. I was so worried about them whilst I was away but they are looking good. I also have a million cornflowers going spare after over-compensating from my mouse experience. I have decided to make up some nice pots and donate them to my neighbours garden open day at the weekend for charity. She is a hard-core gardener so am a bit anxious my weedy little sprouts might not live up to her reputation but its all for charity so hopefully I will be forgiven for my horticultural inadequacies.

As if I had not already had enough fun I went down to the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden on Monday night with Lovely Tiny and Outdoorsy Rob. They know a little person who is the next big thing in the ballet world and we went to see him stand in the First Position by The Queen for 3 solid hours. According to Tiny he is a talented dancer and he must have been DYING to leap across the stage. I really felt for him. The star of the show (Darcy's replacement) was AMAZING. I am now wishing to come back in another life as a ballerina - fit, skinny, talented, cultured, beautiful, graceful, dedicated, focused and regularly being thrown around the stage by an extremely fit man in very tight tights.........
