Went to the Gielgud Theatre yesterday to see the best play ever. The whole day was lovely as always. We started off with a little tiny bit of shopping (they have opened Oliver Bonas at St Pancras right opposite LK Bennet - dangerous). We treated mother to a nice pair of earrings from OB and wandered round LKB both coming perilously close to getting out the credit card (The Sister was tempted by a totally unnecessary purple chiffon frock and I by a pair of orange satin shoes). Luckily we both managed to get out of the shop without spending an single unnecessary over-indulgent penny. The evil credit crunch is clearly having its effect on us! We did treat ourselves to a nice champagne breakfast with lovely Super-Sophie though (eeek). The Sister managed 3 whole courses. Where oh where oh where does she put it????? We had proper Sex-in-the-City experience with cocktails and lots of great funny chat about how all men (no - I meant to say most men) are useless, pointless and inadequate. We then wandered up Neal Street and had a drink in the theatre and read the papers. Very lovely and relaxing indeed! The play was absolutely fantazi and we had a lovely quiet journey home on the train where I was forced to relax and read the paper (I was not able to knit due to a grave error when leaving the house as I picked up the wrong pattern - I was gutted and forced to stay up till 2am last night to make up for lost time - Oh dear........)Sunday, 18 May 2008
